Moe's Mondays have become more popular than Britney Spears.  Each and every single Monday at Moe's Southwest Grill they offer any burrito, chips, and drink for $5.99.  Moe's makes their food fresh daily, and you can certainly tell by the taste.

Dominics II Pizza and Pasta

Dominics II is a delicious place to go for a pie or pasta.  It is a small family owned (so you know it's great) pizza place that makes homemade tomato sauce like you have never tasted.  Also popular on the menu is the garlic rolls, baked ziti, and "Grandma Slice Pizza" with fresh mozzarella. You'll be licking your fingers and asking for more.

This restaurant is completely committed to catering to you, with a policy that if you don't like the food, tell them and they will change it to better fit your taste buds' needs.  Now that's a restaurant. Customer satisfaction is extremely important to them, so you know you'll be taken care of.

Cuban Food..It's South Florida

Living in South Florida means you must enjoy a great Cuban meal.  Caribbean Grill, Boca Raton's first Cuban restaurant, will give you just that.  Growing up with two Cuban parents means that I've had my fair share of Cuban cuisine, and I have an eye, smell, and taste for Cuban food. 

Moving down to Boca meant that I had to find the best Cuban food joint around, and this is it! Caribbean grill is a family owned restaurant, open daily.  They do a great job of creating Cuban delicacies that are flavorful and delicious.  Whether it be Arroz con Pollo, Bistec de Pollo, or even their Mamey Milkshake, they get each recipe just right.  So visit Caribbean Grill if you're in a Cuban mood and you can tell me "gracias" later.

Slice of Fort Lauderdale

I found Slice Pizzeria one day while roaming the streets of Fort Lauderdale between classes.  The big sign on the window screamed "2 Pizzas and Soda $4.95" so I obviously had to check it out.  This Pizzeria is absolutely delicious.  Its menu is off-the-wall amazing, and the food backs it up.  Two pizzas and a soda for $5 is a great deal, and the rest of the menu items are quite inexpensive as well. 

The service is great and the people are friendly.  The best part, is that Slice is literally a 5 minute walking distance from FAU's Fort Lauderdale campus.  So between or after classes, walk over and grab a slice (or two..or three), or call in and order to class. They deliver.

Yo Quiero Taco Bell

If you go to school at FAU and don't live in West Boca, I'm sure it hasn't taken you long to realize that there is no Taco Bell near campus.  The closest Taco Bells include one off of Linton and one on 441.  But it is your lucky day, because there's a brand new Taco Bell opening on Palmetto!

This new facility is beautifully designed, and looks super modern.  It is the talk of the town..well, the college students, and is set to open within the next month.  We all know that Taco Bell is delicious and cheap, especially for those late night munchies.  It always seems as if you order more on the menu, the price gets cheaper.  So now, you can "Think outside the bun" by visiting the new Taco Bell.

Tomasso's Pizza, Subs, and Perfection

Tomasso's Pizza and Subs is one of Boca's best kept secrets.  This small pizza joint is deceiving, because its food is so delicious, and so inexpensive.  It offers the freshest of fresh foods including pizza, subs, pastas, salads, and an extensive tasty menu.

One of the best things about Tomasso's is its dedication to FAU and its students.  The restaurant named menu item after the Fighting Owls called, "Owl Balls".  These consist of a meatball in tomato sauce, inside of a fresh garlic roll.  I know your mouth is drooling, but I have to mention the super-sized slices of pizza Tomasso's serves, and once again, how delicious everything is. 

The service is spectacular and the food is to die for.  Check out Tomasso's for some yummy Italian (and American) favorites, and don't forget to try an Owl Ball!

Wishing for The Wishing Well

The Wishing Well, also affectionately named "The Well" by local college students, is a laid back restaurant/pub located in Mizner.  The average drink price at The Well is $5, which is why it attracts so many people.  In addition to its fabulous drink specials, it offers great live music at night with talented local bands. 

The inside has high ceilings, and is two stories with a pool table and TV's all around for your viewing pleasure, and the outside contains a covered patio with multiple tables.  This Irish Pub is great for a relaxing night out, or even a few drinks and lunch during the day.  Stop by The Well and have a few beers, and request a few songs while you're at it. Enjoy.

Manis, Pedis, Waxing and More for Less

If you're having trouble finding a great place to get your nails and waxing done in Boca without spending $100 then look no further! Artisan Nails has amazing deals for college students.  They offer $25 manicure/pedicures, which is fabulous since most places charge over $25 for a pedicure alone! Also, Artisan has deals like $15 for eyebrow wax and underarms, $30 for bikini, and $40 for arms and legs.

 It is located five minutes from the FAU campus, next to Yokohama Sushi on Palmetto and Federal.  Some more things I love about Artisan Nails, are their super-friendly service, the clean atmosphere, and unlimited nail polish options.  They have both Essie and OPI brands, two of the best in my opinion.

Movie Theatre or Palace?

Cinemark Palace 20 is both! This movie theatre is by far one of the nicest I've ever been to.   It looks and feels like you're in a palace, and is the perfect spot for a relaxing night out.  "The Palace" is always showing the newest movies.

 If you want to splurge a bit, this movie theatre allows you to watch movies like a King or Queen, with their Premier Tickets for $20.  Every dollar is worth it though, because you get balcony level seating in oversized love-seat comfy sofas, and a full bar and restaurant at your service.  Now THAT is what i call going to the movies!

Day Walking on Lincoln Road

If you're feeling spontaneous on a weekend morning or afternoon, grab some friends and head down to South Beach for the day! Yes, I know South Beach is known for its fabulous night life, but it's super fun during the day too! Lincoln Road is an outdoor shopping strip that goes on for miles.

It is filled with amazing shops and restaurants, and is one of my favorite places to "people-watch" (Miami is quite entertaining- not only the activities.. the people, too!) From ice cream parlors to pizza, sushi, and TONS of shopping.  So check it out for a day of fun, and stay for the night if you're up for it! There are plenty of bars and night clubs on the strip.

Boca Town Center Shopping Fun

Who doesn't love the mall?! On a college budget, it's not the best idea to go all the time, but if you're human, you have to! Town Center at Boca Raton is the second largest mall in South Florida, with 220 specialty stores.  Even if you're just going to window shop, this mall is definitely something worth seeing.

 Daydream in Tiffany's and Louis Vuitton, wander about in Bloomie's, or shop at a great price in Forever21.  This mall has both upscale and low scale shops, fitting for everyones needs.  Even the food court has great options! Middle eastern, deli, Italian, and a delicious bakery are just a few of the fabulous options in the food court.   So make your way down to Town Center and enjoy!

The Happiest of Hours

If you're just getting off work on a Friday afternoon, head to The Cove for a drink or two. This laid back waterfront restaurant/bar has been Friday's hot spot for years.  It offers half off all drinks and free appetizers from 4 until 7 p.m., and the food is delicious! Studying for midterms? Sick and tired of the FAU library, running into everyone you know and being forced to socialize instead of do what you're actually there for? Then check out The Boca Raton Library, located at 1501 NW Spanish River Blvd. You will study in blissful peace and quiet, at a gorgeous location where you won't run into half of your classmates.  It provides a more speedy internet than the FAU library, as well as more broad resources, better air-conditioning, and an all around more satisfying experience.  This library is sure to fit your studying needs, and help you on your way to Acing those exams. 

$10 Tuesdays at 303!

So now that you know (and have hopefully been) to Club 303 on Thursdays, it's time for you to check out their new TUESDAY specials! Starting tonight, Club 303 is hosting $10 Tuesdays.  That's right, $10, All-You-Can-Drink beer and well drinks all night, for everyone.  If that's not a deal then I don't know what is!

After sitting in classes for hours on end, college students tend to work up quite the appetite.  620 Subs is a great place to get a combination of deli fresh meats, breads, veggies, and other condiments.

For only $5.05, you will get a filling 6 inch sub of your choice, chips, and a drink! This is by far the best offer for a sub meal around FAU, and is as delicious as it is satisfying.  Also, since it's only 5 minutes from campus, it is super convenient if you're hungry inbetween classes, and you're guaranteed to make it there and back with no problem!

 Another great thing about 620 Subs is that they're welcoming and love the students as much as we love them.  You'll notice the walls stocked with FAU gear and sorority/fraternity t-shirts and propaganda, just to show their school spirit and appreciation for all the students who give them business.  It's an overall great place to eat when your brain is tired and your stomach (and wallet) are empty.

Fashion Footwear

Ladies! Everyone knows that a great night out requires a fabulous outfit and a great pair of shoes. Also known as "8.88," Fashion Footwear shoe store in Deerfield Beach is heaven on earth for a shoe lover with a college budget.  Each pair of shoes and pumps is only $8.88- a fraction of the price you would spend at Nordstrom's, Dillard's, or even Traffic, another discount shoe retailer.  The store also offers discount boots, all of which are $22.88.  The best thing about it, is that these shoes are not out of style by any means.  They are the same fashion-forward trends you will see at stores like Saks, but for a fraction of the price!  You will walk into this store completely unaware of what you are about to witness, and walk out with a heavy wallet, new trendy shoes, and a smile on your face.  Check out these two pairs I recently purchased, and thank me later.

Yokohama

You wouldn't think that a college budget could support one's love for sushi, but think again! Yokohama is one of the best and cheapest sushi restaurants in Boca Raton.  It offers a half off sushi menu, which happens to be delicious as well as cheap.  You can get some of your favorite rolls, such as California, Mexican, and other delicacies at $4.50 a roll, which is quite the deal, considering most sushi restaurants charge about $9-$15 or more per roll.  And if that isn't enough, for $7, you can get two beers and a small saki.  If you're in college and you like beer and saki, then you definitely know how much fun it is to "saki bomb".  At prices like this, you can't resist! Club 303

Bar/Club 303 is the newest, most "happening" club in Boca Raton right now.  Conveniently located in Mizner Park, it has become the place to be on Thursday nights, especially for college students and other young adults who crave a great night out.  Not only does it provide DJs who know what they're doing (we all know we've been to some clubs where we'd rather sit than dance, due to awful music), but the club offers great drink specials, like $3 drinks, $5 beer and shot combinations, $2 domestic beers, and $3 imports.  With specials like this, you won't wake up the next morning regretting anything!
